Municipal Clerk/Administrative Assistant 

The City of Maumee is accepting applications and resumes for the position of Municipal Clerk/Administrative Assistant. 

Summary of Duties: Municipal Clerk acts as Clerk of City Council, attends all meetings of Council and keeps records of all proceedings, ordinances and resolutions passed or adopted by Council. The Clerk acts as Secretary of the Municipal Planning Commission and of the Civil Service Commission. Is responsible for providing administrative and clerical support to the Administrator, Finance Department, Law Department, Mayor and City Council. 

Qualifications: High School graduate or equivalent. Some college preferred. Notary Public certification and Certified or Master Municipal Clerk certification preferred or able to attain after hire. 

Salary range is $40,000 - $53,000 with excellent benefits.

Assistant Supervisor – Utility Billing 

The City of Maumee is accepting applications and resumes for the position of Assistant Supervisor-Utility Billing. 

Summary of Duties: Performs a variety of accounting and clerical duties. Bills, processes and collects fees for water and sanitary sewers, along with other miscellaneous invoicing. Maintains customer accounts, processes work orders for utilities and coordinates with Water Division. Works with customers to solve problems in service and billing. 

Qualifications: High School graduate or equivalent. Post high school training or education in accounting. 3-5 years of bookkeeping experience. General understanding of basic accounting principles including accounts receivable. 

Salary range is $40,000 - $51,000 with excellent benefits.

SUMMER/SEASONAL EMPLOYMENT OPPORTUNITIES 

The City of Maumee is accepting applications for the 2020 summer season for the following positions: 

LIFEGUARDS Rolf Park Pool, part-time Lifeguards to work up to 40 hrs/week. Must be minimum of 16 years old with certifications from Red Cross in Lifeguard Training, CPR and First Aid. Water Safety Instructor preferred. Copies of all current certifications should be attached to the application. Starting pay: $10.00 per hour. 

CONCESSION & ADMISSION ATTENDANT Rolf Park Pool, part-time Concession & Admission Attendant to work up to 40 hrs/week. Must be a minimum of 18 years of age with experience in handling money, neat in appearance and good public relations skills. Starting pay: $9.00 per hour. 

ROLF PARK POOL ASSISTANT OPERATION MANAGER Part-time Assistant Operational Manager to work up to 40 hrs/week. Must be a minimum of 18 years of age with certification in Red Cross Lifeguard Training, CPR and First Aid. Water Safety Instructor preferred. Qualifications include Lifeguard experience, water purification system and all related equipment necessary to assure safe and proper functions of a commercial pool. Responsibilities include day to day pool operations in absence of Manager, able to supervise up to 10 employees, ability to monitor quality of water and assist in water purification. Copies of all current certifications should be attached to the application. Starting pay: $13.00 per hour. 

ROLF PARK SEASONAL LABORER Rolf Park, part-time laborer for the softball season to work up to 40 hrs/week including weekends. Must be a graduating high school senior and/or college student. Starting pay: $10.00 per hour. 

SERVICE DEPARTMENT – SUMMER LABORER Seasonal summer Laborer in the Department of Public Service to work 40 hrs/week Monday through Friday. Must be a graduating high school senior and/or college student. Starting pay: $10.00 per hour.

Ohio Examination for Police Officer

The Maumee Civil Service Commission announces an open non-competitive examination for the position of entry-level police officer for the City of Maumee, Ohio. A police officer enforces the laws and performs related tasks to preserve the safety and security of the City. Purpose of this examination is to establish an eligibility list for police officer in accordance with the rules and regulations of the Maumee Civil Service Commission.

Age requirement: Applicants shall be at least 21 years of age and less than 36 years of age on February 28, 2020.

Education: Must have an associate degree (or equivalent) from an accredited college or university. The minimum equivalent is 96 quarter hours or 61 semester hours.  College grade transcripts must be provided with the application.  Must be OPOTA certified.

Eligibility list: After the list is established, eligible candidates are certified to the appointing authority to fill any vacancy or vacancies. Each appointment shall be subject to successfully passing a physical examination, including drug screening and a psychological assessment conducted by consultants of the City's choice.  The City will pay cost of all such testing.

Salary:  The January 2020 base annual salary for the position is $56,253.

The first 12 months of employment is deemed a probationary period. An individual who poses a direct threat to the health and safety of himself/herself or others in the workplace will be deemed not qualified for the position.

The Maumee Police Division offers full testing services for the position of police officer through National Testing Network, Inc., at a cost of $49.00 to each candidate. Application and documentation must be received by: February 25, 2020. Exam must be taken by February 28, 2020.

Upon completion of the entry level exam, all candidate scores are automatically forwarded to City of Maumee.  Candidates who attain a passing score on the entry level exam, have submitted all required paperwork and meet the minimum qualifications, will be placed on the City of Maumee Patrolman Civil Service eligibility list. The Maumee Police Division will contact candidates on the list and will invite them to continue to participate in other stages of the department selection process.

National Testing Network is a service provided to conduct entry level testing in a standardized, professional environment. National  Testing Network does not replace the City of Maumee’s responsibility and decision making in the testing process. All candidate results are provided to the Civil Service Commission and the  Maumee Police Division where the final decisions are made.
