The Women's Life Skills Group began in 2004 as an alternative treatment program for women.  These women are either pretrial status or on probation.  The main focus of the group is to provide a supportive environment for women to examine their past in order to make better choices in the present and future.  The curriculum includes:  Education, cognitive restructuring, and community support options.  It also includes assertiveness training, relaxation and imagery, parenting, anger management techniques, and domestic violence information.

There are two life skills groups to choose from.
One group is on Wednesdays from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m.  The other group is held on Thursdays from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m.  When new people join the group (approximately once a month,) they will need to be there at 10:45 a.m. the first week only for the 11:30 a.m. session, and 4:15 p.m. for the 5:00 p.m. session.  The program consists of 30 hours with a minimum two-hour session.  Weekly attendance is mandatory.  A detailed schedule will be given to participants at the first session.
