The Law Department and Assistants act as legal advisors to City Council, the Mayor and city departments for matters relating to their duties consistent with the City Charter.  Further, the Law Department provides legal advice to all City Boards and Advisory Committees. 

The Law Department and Assistants prosecute criminal matters within the Maumee Municipal Court.  The Municipal Prosecutor’s Division is primarily responsible for this function under the supervision of the Law Director.
