Chippable Yard Waste Collection

SPRING 2013 CHIPPABLE YARD WASTE MATERIAL
COLLECTION DATES  

Starting the week of  April 1, 2013, the City of Maumee will be providing its spring chippable yard waste material collection. This collection is for chippable material only, no yard waste bags or non-chippable material (leaves, grass, garden waste, weeds, etc.) will be collected as part of this program. The chippable material must be bundled and tied in four foot (4') lengths, no more than two feet (2') in diameter and weigh no more than forty (40) pounds. The following is  the week the material will be collected. The material should be put out to the street.

District A 

April 1 - 5, 2013
The area between the Anthony Wayne Trail and the Maumee River and WEST of Key Street through uptown beyond I-475 and including the area WEST of Ford Street and SOUTH of Illinois Avenue to I-475 and N. Jerome Road.

District B
April 8 - 12, 2013
The area between the Anthony Wayne Trail and the Maumee River EAST of Key Street to the city limits at the Ohio Turnpike.

District C
April 15 - 19, 2013
The triangle area NORTH of the Anthony Wayne Trail, EAST of Key Street, and to the city limits at the Ohio Turnpike.

District D
April 22 - 26, 2013
The area NORTH of the Anthony Wayne Trail, WEST of Key Street, EAST of I-475, and SOUTH of the Ohio Turnpike, not including the area WEST of Ford Street and SOUTH of Illinois Avenue to I-475.

CITY OF MAUMEE YARD WASTE 
DISPOSAL OPTIONS 2013

Yard waste is not included in the regular refuse collection.  Yard waste may be handled by the residents through home composting, through the yard waste collection service provided by Allied Waste Services, or through utilizing the available yard waste drop-off facilities.

YARD WASTE COLLECTION SERVICE:  
Allied Waste Services brown yard waste bags are available for purchase at The Andersons and Rite Aid in Maumee and must have the Allied Waste Services seal on the side of the bag (generic bags will not be picked up by Allied Waste Services).  The bags are also available by calling Allied Waste Services at (419) 472-1165 for home delivery.  Payment over the phone will be with a credit card or debit card.  The bags will be delivered within 72 business hours.  The purchase price covers the cost of the collection service and composting of the item.


Collection occurs every Tuesday starting March 5, 2013 through December 3, 2013.

Material that can be placed in your yard waste collection bags includes:

  • grass

  • leaves

  • garden waste

  • limbs or brush if they are cut in 4-foot lengths and bundled no more than 2-feet in diameter and weighing less than 50 pounds.  The bag should be wrapped around or attached to the bundle with the Allied Waste logo showing.

Chippable material (only) drop-off service at the Public Service Yard located at 214 Illinois Avenue will be on the following dates between 9:00 a.m. and 1:00 p.m.

 

May 18, June 8, July 20, and August 24, 2013.
You must bring proof of Maumee residency.
