Maumee Municipal Court in Maumee, Ohio is accepting applications for the following positions:

Deputy Clerk (Criminal and Civil)  $42,785 per year 
Deputy Clerk - Supervision (Probation)  $47,941 per year

The City of Maumee is accepting applications for a contract teaching position to instruct during the Maumee “2018 Safety City” program.  This position requires the candidate be a certified educator (elementary level preferred).  The contract pay is $1,600.00 for the 10-day program (scheduled for June 4-15, 2018) and one set-up day on June 1,2018.

 Examination for Police Officer 

The Maumee Civil Service Commission announces an open non-competitive examination for the position of entry-level police officer for the City of Maumee, Ohio.  A police officer enforces the laws and performs related tasks to preserve the safety and security of the City.  Purpose of this examination is to establish an eligibility list for police officer in accordance with the rules and regulations of the Maumee Civil Service Commission.

Age requirement:  Applicants shall be at least 21 years of age and less than 36 years of age on March 31, 2018.

Education:  Must have an associate degree (or equivalent) in law enforcement, public safety, police science, or related field from an accredited college or university.  The minimum equivalent is 96 quarter hours with 40 quarter hours in law enforcement topics or 61 semester hours with 30 semester hours in law enforcement topics.  College grade transcripts must be provided with the application.  Must be OPOTA certified.

Eligibility list:  After the list is established, eligible candidates are certified to the appointing authority to fill any vacancy or vacancies.  Each appointment shall be subject to successfully passing a physical examination, including drug screening and a psychological assessment conducted by consultants of the City's choice.  The City will pay cost of all such testing.

Salary:  The base annual salary for the position is $53,144. 

The first 12 months of employment is deemed a probationary period.  An individual who poses a direct threat to the health and safety of himself/herself or others in the workplace will be deemed not qualified for the position.

The Maumee Police Division offers full testing services for the position of police officer through National Testing Network, Inc., at a cost of $49.00 to each candidate. To fill out an application and schedule a test, go to, select Law Enforcement and sign up for the City of Maumee Police Division.  A City of Maumee notarized employment application and copies of: OPOTA Certification, College Transcripts, Birth Certificate and Driver’s License should be sent to:  City of Maumee, Civil Service Commission, 400 Conant Street, Maumee, OH 43537.  Application and documentation must be received by: March 27, 2018. Exam must be taken by March 31, 2018.

Upon completion of the entry level exam, all candidate scores are automatically forwarded to City of Maumee.  Candidates who attain a passing score on the entry level exam, have submitted all required paperwork and meet the minimum qualifications, will be placed on the City of Maumee Patrolman Civil Service eligibility list. The Maumee Police Division will contact candidates on the list and will invite them to continue to participate in other stages of the department selection process.

National Testing Network is a service provided to conduct entry level testing in a standardized, professional environment. National Testing Network does not replace the City of Maumee’s responsibility and decision making in the testing process.  All candidate results are provided to the Civil Service Commission and the  Maumee Police Division where the final decisions are made.
