The Maumee Municipal Court Probation Division was established in April of 1993. Currently, there are three full-time probation officers on staff and one part-time officer. In 2012, there were approximately 2,105 people under some level of probation supervision.
The Probation Division offers many programs and services in addition to basic supervision. At the pretrial stage, individuals are monitored on Own Recognizance bonds, Monitored Bonds, and Supervised Bonds. Conditions of bond include drug testing, participation in court-ordered groups and counseling, being monitoring on SCRAM and/or GPS tracking. All of these options are offered and monitored through the Maumee Municipal Court Probation Division.
Once sentenced and placed on probation, there are numerous conditions to which a defendant may be sentenced. In addition to the pretrial conditions cited above, a defendant could be ordered to: drug and alcohol treatment (including a 28-day inpatient program), a 72-hour Driver's Intervention Program, a Victim Impact Panel Program, attend AA meetings, participate in mental health counseling, complete parenting classes, obtain a GED/diploma, maintain employment, obtain a valid driver's license, or be placed on intensive supervision probation.
