Offenders placed on a Supervised Own Recognizance Bond during the pretrial stage of their court involvement are assigned to report into a kiosk machine once a week. The kiosk machine identifies each offender by taking his/her photograph and comparing it to a database of photos complied mainly from the Bureau of Motor Vehicles. The offender then enters his/her assigned PIN number and is directed to answer a number of pre-programmed questions. Individualized questions can also be entered by the supervising probation officer. There is also a scanner built into the kiosk where offenders can scan documentation requested by the probation department. One of the best features of using a kiosk system is that it allows an offender to report to one of five different locations throughout Lucas County, with two of the kiosks having seven day a week, 24 hour a day availability. Questions and concerns about using a kiosk for reporting can be answered at: 419-897-7147 or 419-897-7097 during business hours.
