Welcome to historic Maumee, Ohio! The goal of these tours is to showcase the
preservation of historic homes in Maumee and to promote the heritage of
our City. All of the buildings chosen for these tours depict
the pride the owners have shown in maintaining the
beauty and craftsmanship of their home.
Tour 1 features homes built between 1825 and 1840.
Tour 2 features homes built in the 1840's and 1850's which reflect
variations of the Greek Revival architectural style popular
in small towns during the pre Civil War period. Tour
3 will feature the homes showcased in the Historic Maumee
Home Tour to be held on October 1, 2005.

This "Historic Maumee Home Tour" plaque designates
a home that has been a part of the Home Tour
sponsored by the Maumee Senior Center in October of each
year.
This
plaque indicates that the home is on the "National
Register of Historic Places".

The
Bicentennial Quilt
_______________________________
This quilt was made by forty-two Maumee women who admired
the art of quilt-making and who wanted to create a handmade
record of residences reflecting the historical development
of an Ohio River Town. It was given to the City of
Maumee by the members of the Maumee Bicentennial Quilt
Association in May 1976 in celebration of the American
Bicentennial. Click
here for additional information on this beautiful quilt,
or stop by the Maumee Municipal Building, Second Floor to
view the quilt in person and to obtain a copy of the
brochure pictured below.
