Tim Pauken

First elected to Maumee City Council in November of 2005, Pauken took Office in January of 2006 as a 3rd Generation Public Servant and 5th Generation Maumee family. Mr. Pauken is married to Karen and has 2 children, Madison and Aaron. He is a 28 year employee of the Maumee school district, and past President of Recycled Laser Products Inc. He currently serves on the SAIL Board where he served as President for 2 years, and is a former board member of the Joint Economic Development Zone. He has also served as President, Vice President and Secretary to OAPSE/AFSCME local 240, and continues to serve as a member and Secretary on the Credit Committee of the Maumee Educators Federal Credit Union. Mr. Pauken currently serves  as Chairman of the Safety Committee and Public Information Committee. And is a member of the Municipal Court, Parks and Recreation, Personnel and Water and Sewer Committees. A past member of the Environment, Buildings and Lands, Streets, Public Utilities and Land Use and Zoning Committees.

Some highlights of accomplishments include pushing for employee evaluations across the board, along with the creation of a Human Resources Commissioner. Also involved in the hiring of an In-House Law Director and restructuring of Management positions while on the Personnel Committee. While serving on the Public Information Committee, it was recommended that the City not support an Income Tax for the funding of TARTA, and recommended remaining a member of TARTA. This Committee was also charged with the hiring of a Website Designer for the upgrade of the City's Website. Through the Safety Committee, 2 Lieutenants were hired to replace the retiring Lieutenants in the Police Division, reinstating a School Resource Officer for Gateway Middle School, and currently involved in the search for a new Police Chief due to the retirement of our current Chief of Police in the near future. The Water and Sewer Committee continues to study the aging infrastructure, installation of new water meters and providing utility rates that are palatable in these harsh economic times.

I am proud of these and other accomplishments over the last eight years, and look forward to continuing the level of excellence this city has come to expect.
