Thomas Wagener, Jr.

Tom Wagener, Jr.  was born and raised in Maumee, Ohio, by a very active, community-minded family.  His uncle and cousin have both been members of Maumee City Council.  He and his wife, Jolyn, have been married for 25 years and they have one daughter, Jenna.  Tom attended grade school at St. Joseph's School, Maumee and graduated from Maumee High School in 1977.  He studied law enforcement at Owens Community College and graduated from The Medical College Paramedic Program in 1979.

Tom retired in December 2012 from the City of Maumee after 35 years as a Firefighter / Paramedic.  His last position with the City was as Chief of Paramedics.  Tom is currently a board member of Honor Flight of Northwest Ohio, serving as medical director and treasurer.  He has been on every flight since the inaugural flight in 2008 accompanying over 1800 WWII, Korean, and Vietnam veterans to see their memorials in Washington, D.C.  He has also been a board member of Maumee S.A.I.L. for the past 10 years.

As a councilman, Tom's duties include being Chairman of the Environment and Public Utilities committees as well as a member of the Buildings and Lands, Code, Municipal Court and the Water & Sewer committees.  Tom has enjoyed his 35 years serving as a member of the Maumee Fire Department and he looks forward to serving this great City as a member of Maumee City Council.  Tom was sworn in as a City Council member in January 2014.
