Julie Rubini is a 25 year resident of Maumee. She is married to Brad, mother to daughter Kyle, son Ian and founder of Claire’s Day in honor and memory of her daughter Claire.
Julie enjoys applying and sharing her writing, marketing, communication and organizational skills in her role on Council. In the past Julie served as the director of sales and marketing for the Toledo Convention and Visitors Bureau and the Seagate Convention Center. A writer at heart, she has freelanced for local and regional publications, and was commissioned to write Hidden Ohio, a children’s book about our great state, published in 2009. She has written her memoir and currently working on various writing projects.
She accepted the appointment to Council in November 2012 as an extension of her desire to serve the community. She is proud to have served on the 175th Anniversary committee and of her role in assisting the updating of the City’s website. She believes in government accountability, as well as providing awareness to and encouraging participation of citizens in the governmental process. As an active athlete and healthy lifestyle advocate she would like to encourage health awareness programs in the community in the future
Julie currently serves as Chair of the Public Information and Parks and Recreation committees. She also serves on the Finance and Economic Development, Environment, Municipal Court and Water & Sewer Committees.
