Radio & Telephone Operator
The City of Maumee is accepting applications for the position of Full-time Radio and Telephone Operator (911 Emergency Dispatcher). Duties consist of handling police and fire telephone calls and radio messages, operation of computer aided dispatch system, writing reports, data entry, filing and other duties designated or assigned. Applicants should possess the ability to deal with the public under stressful circumstances while multi-tasking. Applicants must be at least 21 years of age and a high school graduate or equivalent.
Applicants must be willing to work all shifts including evenings, nights, weekends and holidays. Full-time entry level pay is $47,244 per year with excellent benefits.

Examination for Police Officer
The Maumee Civil Service Commission announces an open non-competitive examination for the position of entry-level police officer for the City of Maumee, Ohio. A police officer enforces the laws and performs related tasks to preserve the safety and security of the City. Purpose of this examination is to establish an eligibility list for police officer in accordance with the rules and regulations of the Maumee Civil Service Commission.
Applicants shall be at least 21 years of age and less than 36 years of age on April 30, 2019.
Must have an associate degree (or equivalent) from an accredited college or university. The minimum equivalent is 96 quarter hours or 61 semester hours with 30 semester hours. College grade transcripts must be provided with the application. Must be OPOTA certified.
After the list is established, eligible candidates are certified to the appointing authority to fill any vacancy or vacancies. Each appointment shall be subject to successfully passing a physical examination, including drug screening and a psychological assessment conducted by consultants of the City's choice. The City will pay cost of all such testing.
The base annual salary for the position is $55,422.
The first 12 months of employment is deemed a probationary period. An individual who poses a direct threat to the health and safety of himself/herself or others in the workplace will be deemed not qualified for the position.
The Maumee Police Division offers full testing services for the position of police officer through National Testing Network, Inc., at a cost of $49.00 to each candidate. Upon completion of the entry level exam, all candidate scores are automatically forwarded to City of Maumee. Candidates who attain a passing score on the entry level exam, have submitted all required paperwork and meet the minimum qualifications, will be placed on the City of Maumee Patrolman Civil Service eligibility list. The Maumee Police Division will contact candidates on the list and will invite them to continue to participate in other stages of the department selection process.
National Testing Network is a service provided to conduct entry level testing in a standardized, professional environment. National Testing Network does not replace the City of Maumee’s responsibility and decision making in the testing process. All candidate results are provided to the Civil Service Commission and the Maumee Police Division where the final decisions are made.
