Annual Report or 2003 Annual Report. While there is no legal requirement for the preparation of
this report, it represents a commitment by the City of Maumee
to conform to nationally recognized standards of excellence in
financial reporting. Responsibility for both the accuracy of
the presented data and the completeness and fairness of the
presentation, including all disclosures, rests with the City.
To the best of our knowledge and belief, the enclosed data, as
presented, is accurate in all material respects; is presented
in a manner designed to fairly set forth the financial
position and results of operations of the City; and includes
all disclosures necessary to enable the reader to gain an
understanding of the City's financial activity.
This Comprehensive Annual Financial Report (CAFR) is
designed to assist and guide the reader in understanding its
contents. The report is comprised of the following three major
sections:
1. The Introductory Section includes a letter of
transmittal which presents the City's organization,
operational structure and accomplishments; an organizational
chart; and a list of elected officials.
2. The Financial Section contains the City's general
purpose financial statements and explanatory notes thereto;
the combining and individual fund and account group financial
statements and schedules; and the Report of the Independent
Auditors.
3. The Statistical Section presents social, economic and
historical data in a multi-year format which can be used to
identify financial trends and data relative to the fiscal
capacity of the City.
