Bottorff / Servais Home.
The Greek revival details on this home, built 1845-1850,
were obscured by later additions and siding until the
current owners uncovered the wide frieze board under the
gabled roof. The handsome classic doorway is flanked
with turned double pillars, sidelights, and glass
transom. Contrasting colors of paint emphasize the
six-over-six windows and moldings. A small addition,
once a separate apartment, has been incorporated into the
one-family home. The current owners have retained and
restored many original features in this home, including the
2-panel doors with original hardware, front and rear
stairways and wavy glass windows in the original front
parlor. The front foyer has original plank floors and
a well-preserved front stairway which has a unique 90 degree
curve as it ascends to the second floor.

The home owners found this small, well-worn shoe under the
floor planks in the foyer during a recent renovation.
Legend has it that a shoemaker once lived in the home.
Note the beautiful front stairway with its unique 90 degree
turn, and the well-worn treads on the back stairway leading
up from the kitchen.
